Thijs van Leeuwen extends his contract

Thijs van Leeuwen has extended his contract at Iconics. The midfielder, who currently plays for FC Den Bosch, has chosen to continue his journey with us the coming years.

Thijs came through the youth academy of FC Twente, where he made his debut for the first team. He then went on to play for Almere City FC and TOP Oss before joining FC Den Bosch in 2024.

“They picked me up during one of the toughest periods in my career. Now I’m in a really good place, and that says a lot about me, but even more about the management that has supported me along the way. The trust is 100%.”

Currently enjoying a strong spell at FC Den Bosch, Thijs looks ahead with confidence. “I believe something special can grow when you start together in difficult times and stay loyal when things improve. That’s how you build something that goes beyond football.”
